A Commitment to Service

The Girl Scouts of Yorba Linda believe strongly that community service is one of the cornerstones upon which a successful Girl Scout program is based.

A commitment to community service by Girl Scouts began when Juliette Gordon Low assembled 18 girls from Savannah, Georgia, on March 12, 1912, for a local Girl Scout meeting. She believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. She set a goal of bringing girls out of isolated home environments and into community service.

Today, the Girl Scouts of Yorba Linda strive to carry-on Juliette Low's original vision and goal with a continuing commitment to service.
