How to Register a New Leader
Procedure for
Yorba Linda Service Unit 2

Step 1:

New Leader Applicant requests a new volunteer Application packet from School Liaison

The following paperwork is included in each new leader applicant set:

  1. The Volunteer Application form (white, 2-sided, includes references)
  2. Consent for Background Screening form (white, 1-sided)
  3. Postage-paid envelope addressed to Council in Irvine
  4. Adult registration form (blue). The leader returns all three copies. *
  5. Troop Leader/Co-Leader Volunteer Agreement form for Current Year
  6. Troop Leader/Co-Leader Interview

  1. Application for an Adult Volunteer (SU2)
  2. Consent for Background Screening form
  3. 2010 Fill-In Adult registration form * (please print 3 copies)
  4. Troop Leader/Co-Leader Volunteer Agreement form for Current Year
  5. Troop Leader/Co-Leader Interview - Fill-In

Fill out forms completely.

*Adult Registration Form only need to be filled out if Volunteer is not a currently registered Girl Scout. If Adult Registration form is returned, please include a $12.00 check made out to "GSCOC"

Step 2:

All forms should be returned by new volunteer applicant to the appropriate School Liaison (Click for list)

Important: Please place the Consent for Background Screening form ONLY in the Council postage-paid envelope and return this envelope with the rest of the paperwork. Do NOT mail the envelope.

Step 3:

School Liaison reviews all forms and gives completed packet to:

Step 4:

SU Paperwork Coordinator sends the following forms to council.

  • Leader application
  • Background Screening Request (in sealed envelope)
  • Leader Agreement
  • Volunteer Interview
Step 5:

After the leader has cleared the background/reference checks, the Service Unit Manager notifies Association's Executive Orientation Coordinator (EOC) that leader is ready for Orientation.

Linda Bibeau will dispatch the Orientation to an available Orientation Specialist. The Orientation Specialists will contact the new leader applicant to schedule Orientation

New Leader needs to complete orientation within 1 month

Step 6:

New Leader needs to complete Leadership Essential Training 3 months of orientation.

Step 7:

If this is a brand new troop, the leader can now register her new troop through Terrie Mohlman (SU2) who will assign a troop number at this time and provide the new leader a registration packet for her/his girls
