Girl Scouts World Thinking Day occurs on February 22nd of each year. On this day, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide gather together to participate in activities that help them
develop awareness about their sister scouts around the globe, and to appreciate the differences about each other's lives.

Each participating troop decides upon a country to represent.

  • They plan a table-top exhibit about their country - a poster board or stand-up display, a food item (optional -Girl Scouts love to eat and would be great if they could sample a popular treat from your country while they are there) and a small activity.
  • Some troops may decide to dress like scouts from their country, or to wear a particular representative style of dress.
  • On event day, participants "travel" from country to country; visiting the exhibits, sampling food items, and perhaps makinga craft, getting a SWAP, playing a game or learning a dance or a song.
  • Each stay should be approximately 5 minutes. Please try to share some information about girl scouts from yourcountry as well (symbols, name of levels, uniforms, etc.).
  • Travelers carry "passports" which are stamped in the way out of each country, so plan a stamp, small fact sheet or sticker from your country! At the same time your own girls will be also visiting the other countries represented by the other troops. So plan a rotation schedule where the girls can be divided in two groups: half working on their own country for half of the time and the other half visiting the other troop’s countries and switching in the middle of the event.
  • The final participant count will be emailed after registration is closed so you can plan accordingly.

Please have your scouts bring pennies to donate to the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund. Donations to this fund are used to support girls' international travel and participation in
training and other international events.

The program center will be open at 8 am for troop check in and set-up.

Opening  ceremonystarts promptly at 9 am. Cleaning up starts at noon (please no clean up before noon so girls still
in rotations can still enjoy it!) so plan to have girls picked up after all clean up is done.
